Flowers

Back to Poetry

I won't wait for a moment to pass

or for silence to make me regret it

so I'm saying it now

while you can still hear it from me

These are yours..

These don't fade on a dresser

or get forgotten in a room

I'm talking about the kind that live

in how I see you

The way you move through life

like you already learned what most are still guessing

quiet strength

no announcement needed

just presence

You don't try to be different

you just are

and somehow that's what pulls everything toward you

Your voice stays with me

not just what you say

but how you say it

it lingers

like it knows I'll come back for it

and I do

your beauty

yeah, it catches my eyes

but it's your honesty that holds them there

the way you don't bend for the world

but still move with grace inside it

that balance

that's rare

you carry yourself like you've built your own foundation

and don't need anyone to complete it

but I won't lie

I see where I fit

not to change you

not to save you

just to stand next to something real

and I've been around enough to know

real doesn't show up twice

so take this for what it is

no pressure

no performance

just me

giving you your flowers

while I'm here to mean it

because something about you

feels like the answer

I didn't know I was asking for
