Tell me something…
How far is halfway?
Because lately…
You’ve been standing on your side…
I’ve been standing on mine…
And somehow…
The distance between us…
Feels longer than miles.
It’s amazing…
How two people…
Can sleep in the same bed…
And still feel…
Countries apart.
You know what I’ve learned?
Love doesn’t usually end…
People just stop walking toward each other.
Everybody wants to be understood.
Very few people…
Are willing…
To understand.
There’s a difference.
I want to know…
What hurt you…
Before I tell you…
Why I reacted.
I want to know…
What you heard…
Not just…
What I said.
Because sometimes…
The loudest argument…
Started with the quietest misunderstanding.
Maybe…
You weren’t trying to hurt me.
Maybe…
I wasn’t trying to ignore you.
Maybe…
We were both fighting…
Battles the other one couldn’t see.
Funny how that works.
We spend so much time…
Explaining ourselves…
We forget…
To discover each other.
Somewhere…
Love became a courtroom.
Evidence.
Witnesses.
Closing arguments.
Verdicts.
But relationships…
Were never supposed to feel…
Like somebody had to be convicted.
Maybe…
Nobody’s guilty.
Maybe…
We’re just tired.
Maybe…
We’ve both been carrying…
More than we’ve admitted.
So today…
I’m putting something down.
My ego.
You don’t have to carry yours either.
Meet me halfway.
Not because I’m always right.
Not because you’re always wrong.
Meet me halfway…
Because we’re both worth the walk.
I’ll admit…
I could’ve listened better.
I could’ve hugged you sooner.
I could’ve asked…
“Are you okay?”
Instead of asking…
“Why are you acting like this?”
Maybe you could’ve done the same.
See…
Healing starts…
The moment…
Blame ends.
I don’t need perfection.
I need participation.
Show up.
Talk to me.
Cry if you have to.
Tell me the ugly parts.
Tell me the parts…
You’re afraid I’ll judge.
I’ll stay.
Not because it’s easy.
Because you’re worth it.
And maybe…
Years from now…
When somebody asks…
How we made it…
We won’t tell them…
We never argued.
We’ll tell them…
Every time life pushed us apart…
One of us…
Always took the first step.
Then the other one…
Took the next.
Until eventually…
There wasn’t any distance left.
So…
If you’re waiting on me…
Here I am.
Halfway.
The rest of the journey…
Looks a whole lot easier…
If I get to walk it…
With you.
