When I See You, I See My Bride

rs=w 1280 (10)

When I see you,

I don’t just see a woman,

I see a prayer that took the long way home.

A melody my soul already knew the lyrics to,

even when my mouth forgot the tune.

I see more than skin and silhouette,

I see chapters I’ve been waiting to read aloud,

soft pages written in faith,

lined with forgiveness,

bound by the kind of love that don’t age.

Tell me,

who taught your heart to move like that?

To dance between strength and surrender,

to be gentle but never weak,

to be light but still hold storms?

When I see you,

I see my reflection through God’s patience,

the version of me that prayed right,

stayed still long enough to understand timing,

and finally learned what peace sounds like when it whispers your name.

I see the wife before the wedding,

the covenant before the contract,

the forever before the ring.

I see every woman I almost loved

bowing out gracefully,

just to make room for you.

Your eyes,

they don’t look at me,

they look through me..

into the boy who still needed healing,

the man who’s ready to lead,

and the soul that finally stopped running.

You remind me love ain’t something to chase,

it’s something to recognize when it stands before you,

quiet, divine, undeniable.

So when I see you,

I don’t see luck.

I see purpose.

I see favor.

I see the woman who makes “home” a heartbeat,

who teaches me that forever isn’t measured in time,

but in how she breathes my name and means it.

When I see you,

I see my bride.

Not the kind the world defines..

but the kind Heaven signs off on,

with tears in my eyes and gratitude in my chest.

Because love like this

ain’t found,

it’s revealed.

And when I see you,

I know…

I’ve finally been seen too.
